The ever enterprising Kavita Shanbhag celebrated Purple Day in her Colony at Matunga. Dr. Neeta Naik and Dr. Nathan released purple balloons and spoke of the significance of purple day – a colour that the origniators of this day hope would come to be synonymous with epilepsy and help in spreading awareness. Some NGOs including IEA had stalls where their products were sold over 3 days (Fri-Sun).
On Sat for the support group meeting Kavita brought delectable purple cup cakes made by her daughter Preeti. At this meeting Carol asked the members questions about epilepsy in general (after attending so many Conquering Epilepsy programs it was time to test their knowledge) and the type of seizures they had.
We will be celebrating birthdays of the month (including Dr. Pravina Shah’s birthday which was on the 6th) on the 4th Saturday ie. 24th April. On the 11th we will either continue with Q&As on epilepsy or do a stress and anger management session – see ya! Carol
