Dr. Pradnya conducted three awareness programs back to back in 3 branches of The Symbiosis school in Thane , Diwa and Mumbra district. Overall we spoke to an audience of approx.500 people (parents , teachers , support staff and 12th standard science students). It was heartening to see that the locals asked a lot of questions and thus made the talk very interactive . In the last session we had a parent whose son has epilepsy come and address the other parents, teachers and other students for the support she is receiving from the school. The Principal of the schools Mr. Dev is truly a revolutionary in his own way and tries his best to keep this pocket aware and give the kids the best facilities he can. He also made the students promise that they would spread as much awareness as they could and definitely not run with Kanda and Chapal next time they witnessed a seizure. Mr. Dev also stressed upon the importance of visiting the right doctors – neurologist for the treatment. It was a day well spent indeed. – Pooja Nandi
In the cool environs of Everard Nagar Gardens, Sion, an epilepsy awareness program was jointly organized by Rotary Club of Chembur, Lok Seva Sangam and Samman Association. Dr. Amit Watkar spoke to anganwadi and health workers of the area – about 50 of them.  After the talk they asked very relevant questions on treatment, hereditary aspect, surgery etc.  Members of the Rotary Club felt that the talk was very useful and that all schools in the area should also be thus educated – they promised their help in arranging the same. They also invited me to talk at the Rotary Club on the 27th of this month – I look forward to it!
