On 1st February 2026, Samman Association (Epilepsy Mumbai) marked a historic milestone by successfully hosting the second edition of Jiyo Samman Se Run — India’s only timed run dedicated exclusively to epilepsy awareness — at the iconic Bandra Fort, Mumbai.

Held during International Epilepsy Awareness Month, the event became a powerful platform to amplify conversations around epilepsy, visibility, inclusion, and dignity in one of India’s most public and vibrant spaces.

1,200 Participants, One Shared Purpose

This year, 1,200 participants came together across 3K, 5K (Timed), and 10K (Timed) categories — double the number originally planned. Runners included people living with epilepsy, caregivers, families, neurologists, fitness enthusiasts, corporate teams, and community allies, making it one of the largest epilepsy awareness runs in India.

Bandra Fort turned purple — the global colour of epilepsy awareness — as the city ran together for understanding and acceptance.

We were honoured to have Robin Behl as our Special Guest, whose presence brought immense energy and visibility to the event and deeply resonated with the running community.

As a professionally organised timed run for epilepsy awareness, winners in the 5K and 10K categories were awarded cash prizes, trophies. Every participant received an official Jiyo Samman Se Run T-shirt, finisher medal, curated goodie bag with sunscreens, awareness flyers and more.

A defining feature of Jiyo Samman Se Run 2.0 was the exhibition zone, where people living with epilepsy showcased their artwork, handmade products, and creative ventures. These stalls created meaningful engagement, allowing participants and visitors to experience epilepsy beyond stereotypes — through talent, resilience, and entrepreneurship.

Citywide Visibility for Epilepsy Awareness

Epilepsy awareness extended well beyond Bandra Fort. Samman’s message reached Mumbai’s streets and skyline through large billboards at two prime locations:

  • Western Express Flyover near Andheri Pump House
  • Bandra Reclamation

The run also received print media coverage, including features. Our digital awareness campaign achieved an online reach of over 1 million, significantly amplifying the message nationwide.
