On 23rd August 2025, Samman Association was honored to be invited to the 11th Institutional Review Board (IRB) Meeting at ADAPT (Able Disable All People Together).
Our Founder, Dr. Pravina Shah, delivered a well-received presentation that traced Samman’s 34-year journey of service to the epilepsy community. She highlighted how far we have come — from conducting monthly support group meetings and awareness programs to running free and subsidized epilepsy clinics and rural health camps. Over the years, Samman has reached thousands of families through counseling, psycho-education, therapy workshops, employment training, and advocacy efforts, all aimed at creating visibility for epilepsy and reducing stigma.

Dr. Shah also spoke about the future vision of Samman — to expand research initiatives, particularly around our rural epilepsy camps, which have been a cornerstone of our outreach. By studying and documenting the long-term impact of these rural interventions, Samman hopes to contribute valuable data to the field of epilepsy care and community-based health models in India.
The event brought together some of the most distinguished leaders in medicine, neuro health, disability inclusion, and research, including Padmashri Dr. Mithu Alur, Padmashri Dr. Samiran Nundy, Dr. Surajit Nundy, and Dr. Ragini Sen. Sharing our work in such an esteemed gathering was both an honor and an inspiration, reaffirming our mission to ensure that epilepsy in India is understood, supported, and never stigmatized.
💜 As we look ahead, Samman remains committed to breaking barriers, deepening research, and creating stronger systems of support so that every epilepsy warrior in India can live with dignity, confidence, and equal opportunity.
