The day began as usual with villagers streaming in from 9 am for a medical check up and for their medicines. This time 30 old cases came for follow up and 4 new epilepsy cases were diagnosed. Instead of the usual breakfast a lavish lunch was offered to the villagers courtesy Ashokbhai and Hemaben Parekh who always are our gracious hosts at Pen. After the sumptuous lunch children from the nearby orphanage (Child Haven International) and Special School (Sumangal School for Mentally Retarded, Hearing Impaired and Multiple Handicapped children) danced, recited and gave us and idea of the skill training they receive. It was a joy for everyone the performers and the audience which comprised of people with epilepsy, their caregivers and supporters.
