We got ready for the E-STAR program by sending, in the month of October, letters to 500 schools in Mumbai asking them for an opportunity to create epilespy awareness at their schools in the months of November and December. So far we have a good response. The first school we went to was Loretto Convent, Chembur. The program is in 3 parts, it starts with a small talk, then we show a short 15 minute film and this is followed with a talk on my experiences with epilepsy. Today we went to Sir J.J. Girls’ High School at Fort. At both the schools the girls were very attentive. This can be seen in the pictures. At the schools we also announce an essay competition on ‘My Friend Has Epilepsy’. This is to further sensitize the students. This competition is being sponsored by UCB Pharma. Students at both schools were eager to participate in this competition and so far we have given over 60 forms to them. Really encouraging!
