[slideshow]We returned from Kochi on the 28th night after spending 6 days there. Our sightseeing trips included the Kochi city backwater tour, Cherai Beach, Athirampally waterfalls, elephant training center and Kaladi the birthplace and Temple of Adi Sankaracharya. Some of us also went for the Backwater village tour. The pictures say it all! The conference, especially the second day was very enriching for people with epilepsy and caregivers. Amongst the 4 persons who spoke about their experiences with epilepsy was doctor from Kochi; Advocate Govind Bharathan who was responsible for putting in the PIL that made it possible for persons with epilepsy to legally marry spoke about the options the way forward for getting inclusion (certain categories of persons with epilepsy) in the Persons with Disabilities Act. Christopher Fernandes from the Bombay Chapter made a good presentation about his website ‘theinformationlighthouse.com’. Dr. Nirmal Surya ended the session by detailing the immense work he is doing in Maharashtra with the National Rural Health Mission.

Our trip was made all the more memorable with the hospitality provided by the organizers, the wonderful food and the immense shopping we did!
